Meet our professional team:



Doug Bowles
Administrator

Doug oversees the direction and coordination of all aspects of resident care, customer service, budgetary control and regulatory compliance.

Doug has over 36 years experience in skilled nursing and management of therapy services.  Doug received his Nursing Home Administrator's license in May 2005.  He joined the professional team at Merritt Manor in September 2011.  Doug brings extensive knowledge in facility operations and has received many managerial awards throughout his career.

Angie Lopez
Activities Designee

Angie is in charge of a full service activity program.  Angie has worked in activities for 7 years.  After receiving beneficial training and experience from a Magnolia sister facility, Angie became the Activities Designee in September 2010.

Jenette Martin, LVN
MDS Designee

Jenette interviews family members, residents and caregivers to obtain necessary information for their care needs.  She also ensures all federally mandated requirements are met.

Jenette joined the professional team at Merritt Manor in July 2015.  She attended the Visalia Adult School to obtain a license in Vocational Nursing.  Jenette first started her career as a treatment and desk nurse.  Today, she assumes a vital leadership role as the facility's MDS Designee.

Laura Hensley, RN
Director of Nursing


Laura is in charge of overseeing all nursing responsibilities.  She works closely with residents, family, physicians and nursing staff to assure all residents are safe and content as well as receive the best care and clinical outcomes possible. 

Laura is a lifelong resident of the San Joaquin Valley.  She brings over 36 years experience in the medical profession.  Laura first began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked in a skilled nursing facility while raising her 3 children.  In 2002, Laura graduated with honors from the Clovis Adult School as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).  As an LVN, Laura worked in the Oncology Department and later the Endoscopy Lab at Kaweah Delta Hospital.  Laura returned to school and graduated from West Hills College, in 2014, as a Registered Nurse.  During that time, she assumed a new role in the hospital's Cardiac Telemetry Department.  Wanting to return to skilled nursing, Laura joined the professional team at Merritt Manor in March 2016.

Aurora Perez

Social Services Designee

 Aurora works with residents and family members to ensure each resident’s transition into the facility is smooth and that their individuality is considered in all aspects of their care.  Aurora begins the process of planning for the resident’s future on the very first day of admission, so the entire team has a direction of care.

Aurora first began her career as an assistant in the Social Services Department.  Today she provides essential leadership as the Social Services Designee.

Maria Fe Vinas, RN

Assistant Director of Nursing


Maria Fe helps residents and monitors their conditions.  She also helps with new admissions, physician orders, staffing and mandated federal regulations. 

Maria Fe has been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years.  She first began her career in a geriatric hospital in Ireland and eventually moved to the Central Valley where she continued to help the elderly in long term nursing care.  She joined the professional team at Merritt Manor in November 2015.

Maria Fe received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the Philippines and passed the California state board exam in 2008.

Misty Champagne, LVN
Director of Staff Development

Misty provides staff training and in-service education.  She also oversees and provides direction to Certified Nurse Assistants, monitors for infection control and ensures residents receive daily quality care

Misty joined the Merritt Manor family in 2011.  She attended the Porterville Adult School to obtain a license in Vocational Nursing.

Nikki Sowersby
Food Service Supervisor

Nikki oversees quality of food, proper cleanliness and that every resident's nutritional needs are met.

Nikki joined the professional team at Merritt Manor in January 2015.  She brings over 21 years experience as a kitchen supervisor most recently working at the Holiday Inn in Visalia and Orange Blossom Junction in Exeter.
