Meet our professional team:

Michelle Lawrence


Michelle oversees the direction and coordination of all aspects of resident care, customer service, budgetary control and regulatory compliance.

Michelle has worked for Porterville Convalescent for almost 22 years. First beginning her career as a Certified Nurse Assistant and then expanding her career as Medical Records Supervisor and today to Administrator.

Heather Quintana, LVN
Director of Staff Development

Heather provides staff training and in-service education.  She also oversees and provides direction to Certified Nurse Assistants, monitors for infection control and ensures residents receive daily qualify care.

Heather has over 16 years experience in skilled nursing and has worked at Porterville Convalescent for over 10 years.  She first began her career as a Certified Nurse Assistant and then returned back to school in 2005 to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse.  After vital training, Heather became the facility's Treatment Nurse.  In October 2015, Heather again assumed another important leadership role as Director of Staff Development.

Andrew Jensen
Dietary Supervisor

Andrew oversees quality of food, proper cleanliness and that every resident’s nutritional needs are met.

Andrew has over 14 years of experience as a Dietary Supervisor. He is also a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Maria Sanchez, RN
Director of Nursing

Maria is in charge of overseeing all nursing responsibilities.  She works closely with residents, family, physicians and nursing staff to assure all residents are safe and content as well as receive the best care and clinical outcomes possible. 

Maria first began her career at Porterville Convalescent as a charge nurse.  Through dedication and hard work, she quickly moved to the position of Assistant Director of Nursing and now Director of Nursing. 

Maria graduated from College of the Sequoias as a Registered Nurse in December 2012.

"Working in the geriatric field is very rewarding.  I love coming to work knowing that every day is filled with making a positive difference in the quality of life for our residents.  I also enjoy working side by side with all the staff members at Porterville Convalescent.  Together, we provide the utmost care for our residents and their families." 
Maria Sanchez

Kelly Osborn, LVN
MDS Designee

Kelly interviews family members, residents and caregivers to obtain necessary information for their care needs. She also ensures all federally mandated requirements are met.

Kelly has 14 years experience in long term care, and 4 years in acute care. She attended Porterville College to obtain a License in Vocational Nursing.

Taylor De Lussa
Social Services Designee

Taylor works with residents and family members to ensure each resident's transition into the facility is smooth and that their individuality is considered in all aspects of their care.  Taylor begins the process of planning for the resident's future on the very first day of admission, so the entire team has a direction of care. 

Taylor first began her career in a Magnolia sister facility as an assistant in the Social Services Department.  Today, she provides essential leadership as the Social Services Designee.  Taylor is currently attending Porterville College to become a Registered Nurse.

Valerie Winters, LVN
Assistant Director of Nursing

Valerie helps residents and monitors their conditions.  She also helps with new admissions, physician orders, staffing and mandated federal regulations. 

Valerie has over 15 years experience in skilled nursing.  She first began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Restorative Nursing Aide.  In 2007, Valerie graduated from the Nursing Program at San Joaquin Valley College to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse.  With several years experience as both a charge and desk nurse, today Valerie assumes a vital leadership role as the facility's Assistant Director of Nursing.  Valerie is continuing her education to become a Registered Nurse.

Berta Barnes
Activities Designee

Bertha oversees a full service activity program for the residents.

Bertha has 26 years experience in long term care. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 16 years in both long term and acute care. She has been overseeing the Activities Department for a year.
